MultiChoice Lifts The Spirits Of The Less Fortunate

In what proved to be an enlightening visit, MultiChoice Zimbabwe held a charity event that saw them take journalists, musicians and well-wishers to an old people’s home in Harare.

Clients at the Mother Theresa Home in Adbennie were treated to music from acts including Dereck Mpofu, Mussa Effect sweet warm foolery by Louis Prince of Comedy, as well as eats, bites and nibbles prepared for them in their on-site kitchen to much delight.

Fooling Around at The Home...

To top it off, the live music saw the elderly taking to the floor to dance and relieve their stress and they interacted with visitors that they would otherwise not meet with or converse with in the quiet of their walls and hallways.

The home takes care of old people, many who have lost contact with their families, or have been abandoned and cannot look after themselves because of old age, sickness and poverty. Some are migrant labourers no longer able to work.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe P.R person Ms Liz Dziva was elated at the response as well as the smiles they brought to the family housed at the home.

“It is always warm to see the less fortunate enjoying themselves and being remembered by the rest of society,” she said.

“As we said in our invite to our partners who are here, ‘these old people are very lonely and their spirits are always uplifted when they meet and interact with friends of the home’. Today their spirits have certainly been uplifted!”
