Women's Rugby hosts Africa in Continental Battle for Honours
Charity leads Coalition of Cheetahs into hunt |
By Robert Mukondiwa
Oestrogen, dust, grit, grass-burn, tears, tenacity and war
cries come to Zimbabwe as the nation hosts Africa in a two-day African Women’s
Rugby extravaganza at the Morris Depot Grounds this September.
Dropping on September 17 and 18, the tournament brings
together some of the most ferocious sporting Amazons from the continent’s rugby
powerhouses and this time, Zimbabwe heads into battle with captain fantastic
Charity ‘Mucucuti’ Muchuchuti hoisting the flag for the hosts.
And at a dollar per day entry fee on both days, Zimbabwe is
invited to the party to rally behind their nation in the giant-killing two day battle.
Ready to be in fighting mode apart from Zimbabwe the hosts
will be Uganda, Kenya, Madagascar, Namibia, Senegal Tunisia and South Africa.
There will be blood!
It promises to be a festival of fun as well in what is essentially
a perfect family outing venue and with Zimbabwean women in sport proving they
can be the strongest link in national sport ahead of their male counterparts,
it is not far-fetched a dream that ultimate victory may even belong to the hosts.
So the nation is invited as the Cheetahs go on the hunt!
